DETERMINING AND ANALYZING WIND ENERGY POTENTIAL BASED ON SATELLITE AND GROUND DATA SETS
Keywords:
renewable energy, wind, potential, satellite, Meteosat, remote sensingAbstract
The main purpose of this paper is to detect and analyze the potential of the wind energy, which is one of the renewable energy sources of which the importance is being understood better day by day, by using ground and satellite observations. Therefore, it is argued if the data acquired based on satellite technologies can be used in this field in order to prevent the time loss and reduce the cost required in classical measuring methods. In the end of the study, it is inferred that ground observations are still needed, however, satellite data may be useful at the pre-analyze stage.
