Automatic flight control system has a manipulation impact on aircraft. From this point of view, considering flight reliability and continuity; detection, isolation and reconfiguration of potential sensor or actuator faults in this system have a vital importance either during flight or ground operations. Fault tolerant control architecture provides continuity of the system against some potential faults. It is possible to see from literature studies that various applications of fault tolerant control are commonly used in different systems. In this work, simulations are conducted on MATLAB/Simulink for sensor fault detection, isolation and reconfiguration of an aircrafts’ longitudinal movement by means of observer and neural network methods and successful results are obtained from the simulations.
